Responsible Gaming

Play responsibly

We help you play responsibly. Playing is fun, but you can't always win. Losing is part of the game, and you need to be prepared for that. That's why it's important to play responsibly and not risk money you can't afford to lose. Gambling can also be addictive and cause you to lose track of time and money. Like many things, what is enjoyable in moderation can be disastrous in excess. We want all your gaming experiences to be as positive as possible, even when you lose. That’s why we work hard to help you control your own play.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Gambling is a form of entertainment. It is not a way to get rich quickly or pay off debts.
  • Gambling is a game of chance. There are no formulas that guarantee winnings.
  • Make sure that the decision to gamble is your own choice.
  • Never try to chase your losses.
  • Never play when you are angry, sad, or intoxicated.
  • Regularly check the amounts you are spending on gambling.
  • Ensure you know all the game rules of the game you are playing.

Bankroll management

Good bankroll management is key. Never play above your own budget, never gamble with other people’s money, and always be prepared to lose your stake in any game you play.

Access and limits

In live poker clubs like Pokahnights VZW, access is prohibited for players under 18, and cash games are not allowed. The maximum buy-in for a tournament is €50 (+ max. 1 re-entry). In live casinos and online poker websites, access is prohibited for players under 21. Additionally, you can deposit a maximum of €200 per week on these websites. The only exception is for a player who specifically requests a higher limit through the Gambling Commission, with approval from the National Bank and a 72-hour cooling-off period.

Know your limits

Cooling-off periods, time-outs, breaks, and self-exclusions can be requested at any time by the player (or their immediate surroundings). This can be done directly through the Belgian Gaming Commission - refer to their official folder for information on responsible gambling—or via the website of the online poker provider.

Local Support Centers:

National institutions

The campaign aims to answer questions you, as a player, may have faced or may face in the future.
